Does your little girl want to have a Halloween party this year? Does she love The Princess and the Frog? Consider planning a Halloween party for her using Princess and the Frog party supplies. While this might seem like an odd choice because, what if boys want to attend the party? Should you just say no? There are two simple ways around this:
- encourage the boys to dress up like frogs!
- turn it into a Halloween slumber party where no boys are allowed.
There, now that that's solved, let's move on. There are a lot of options you can consider when planning a themed Halloween party. Rather than focusing on pumpkins, spiders, skeletons, and gore, you're going to think about pink princess-y decorations and, of course, frogs.
Tiana is the newest Disney princess. For the party invitations, your and your daughter can cut Tiana's tiara out of gold cardstock and decorate the border with plastic jewels and glitter glue. Teach your child how to write the party details in calligraphy. If there are boys invited to the party, instead of tiara invitations, create frog invitations.
You could still, however, include the pumpkins if you have exceptional pumpkin carving skills. Consider using templates to draw out Princess and the Frog pictures on to the pumpkins, and carve them out. This is challenging, which is why I mentioned the need for exceptional pumpkin carving skills is a must.
With the Princess and the Frog party supplies, you can incorporate many other fun elements that kick the party up a bit:
- Provide each guest with a sparkling magic wand. They have really cute ones at the party supply store, as well as the dollar store that are silver with a star on top.
- Cut out big lily pads from green paper and place them along the driveway, leading your guests up to the house.
- String white lights all over the area where the party is going to be held, as well as leading up your porch and around your entry way. That way, the guests feel like they're making a grand entrance.
- If you have extra tinsel from Christmas, this makes for some great swag on the party food table, as well as wisped through plants or draped on wall hangings. Remember, princesses like sparkle so you're looking for every sparkling and glittery opportunity you can.
- Dig through your daughter's costume jewelry, and hang up all her beaded necklaces. This works best hanging from chandeliers, draped over lampshades, hanging from wall hangings, hanging from knobs, and things like that. If she has some boas and fringed scarves, use these as decorations as well.
- Pick up some plastic frogs (similar to rubber duckies) to use in conjunction with your Princess and the Frog party supplies, and be sure there's enough for each guest to take one home with them.
When writing out the party invitations, be sure to ask everyone to come in costume. Because some of the girls might be showing up with their hair fixed pretty or wearing costume makeup, avoid messy games like bobbing for apples. That will just result in several disappointed party guests.
If the girls are spending the night, ask each of them to bring their favorite movie. That way, at the end of the night you can throw them into a pillowcase and pick one out. This is also a great idea for quiet time in the morning if the girls stay up late, and need some down time after breakfast and before their parents pick them up.
