You pets are going to be under enough stress already. If your pet looks fearful or annoyed in their new outfit, either remove it immediately, or take it off after you've taken a few images for family and friends to show them how homely your pet looked.

Masks on your pet may sound like a dynamite concept...for you! Animals rely on their eyesight to let them know what's happening around them. If you constrain their vision, they may freeze up or get scared more easily, making them more apt to bite at at a person. If you do decide to torture your poor pet with a disguise, just make sure that you give them very big eye holes so that you don't constrain their eyesight.

If your creature can not handle being around a lot of strangers, put them in a nice, quiet bedroom for the evening. That way they won't bolt out the front door when you're handing out sweets. Furthermore, if you're having a celebration, you won't have to worry about anyone hurting or vexing your pets. Give them some food and water, and look at them systematically to make sure that they all right.
