Diablo 3 Item Changes in Patch 1.03

Diablo 3 changed for the better. In June, Blizzard made more powerful tools and other items available earlier in the game. The change, known as Patch 1.03, made it easier to finish the game on Inferno level.

Here is a list of some of the changes that happened. This list is compiled from information available on the Battle.net site.

  • The bonus monster damage feature for an added player will be removed in the co-op game option.
  • The number of guaranteed items for rare items is decreasing. For players on Level 60, the number will decrease from two items to 1 item.
  • You can still obtain multiple rare items on Level 60. However, this is no longer a guarantee.
  • Items that were usually found in Levels past Level 60 will now be available sooner. In many cases, items will be available on the Hell difficulty.
  • Portals have been created to stop monsters from appearing in the towns from other parts of the game.
  • Inferno has adjusted the difficulty of Act II in the game. Specifically, the amount of damage that monsters can inflict and the health of the monsters was changed. This change also affects Act III and IV.
  • The damage that can be inflicted by the Soul Ripper monster and the Soul Lasher monster has been decreased.
  • The cost of repairing items on Level 60 has risen substantially. However, repair costs for items in Level 53 through Level 63 has risen.
  • The Magic Find or MF won’t be applicable for looted objects.
  • Many different bugs in the game were fixed. For example, there was a bug which caused the maximum life numbers for team members to vary depending upon the area of the game. This no longer happens.
  • The racks which contain weapons will no longer automatically drop weapons.
  • Items which have been made and are dropped can no longer be picked up by other players. In addition, the cost of crafting items on levels up to Level 59 have drastically been reduced. The cost of making weapons has also been decreased.
  • Overall, blacksmith costs as well as the costs from jewelers are being reduced. In some cases, the reduction is up to 75% of previous levels.
  • Players should expect some changes in the class tuning system as a result of this patch.
  • Bombs explode faster, but the damage from frozen bombs has been reduced. In addition, the number of bombs that are created around a player has been decreased from 12 to 8.
  • The Health Pool has been improved.
  • The number of oppressors that are available to fight has been decreased from 4 to 2.
  • In the Inferno level, gas clouds will now be created quicker and the amount of gas clouds that will appear has been increased.
  • The monsters in certain levels are no longer guaranteed to drop magic items after they are killed.
  • Monks can use spears, swords, and weapons.
  • The patch also fixed a bug which would sometimes make it appear as if vendors did not have items for sale.
  • Serious damage to a player will not longer trigger a near death experience.
  • The length of the freeze time has been extended.
