Blizzard Entertainment, a popular name among gamers, is the creator of the game Warcraft which was a runaway success. Diablo 3, a fantasy game that is similar to Warcraft, has a hero whose mission is saving the world.
The hero fights demons, monsters, as well as undead evil creatures before encountering the Prime Evils, three of the ultimate evils from Hell. They form the terrible trio of Mephisto, Baal and Diablo, the Lord of Terror himself.
Most game enthusiasts who favor the fantasy genre would agree that the first and second editions of Diablo are the greatest games ever created. As such, the expectation of the gamers for its third edition is even higher. The excitement is in the air as it is anticipated that the game’s third edition would be the toughest to master among all the editions.
Diablo games are exciting because of the fighting, RPGs and action in real time. In technical terms, the setting of the game is categorized as ‘dungeon roaming’, whereas the fighting is classified as ‘hack and slash’ by the gamers.
When playing the game, a number of levels, that increasingly become difficult, have to be crossed by the gamer to ultimately save the world. Varied kinds of demonic beings that swarm the dangerous, deep and dark Diablo world will be encountered by the gamer when negotiating different levels.
According to gamers, the Diablo 1 released in 1997 was instrumental in inspiring other game developers to bring out games that involved role playing. The game’s first edition had such character classes as the warrior (one who fights with the sword), the rogue (an archer) as well as a sorcerer who had to move through 16 dungeon levels. The hero will finally entrap the Lord of Terror in Soulstone.
Diablo 2 was released in 2000 and it takes the story forward with the imprisoned Diablo entering the first edition hero’s body. The gamer continues his pursuit of tracking down Diablo and saving the world. The second edition had two more evil beings: Baal and Mephisto. Millions of copies of Diablo II were sold, breaking all previous sales records.
Diablo 3, released on May 15, 2012 has set new records! Congrats Blizzard on another wonderful, yet addicting, game!
